Introducing the newest EDIX saddle, the EDIX Ishya. 
A beautifully designed complete dressage saddle built on a flexible tree which was designed by EDIX.  The saddle is made of soft and supple high quality calf leather and soft “soft leather” panels flocked with wool.  A mono flap was chosen for a close leg contact.  The EDIX Ishya offers a wide channel for correct pressure and plenty of room for free spinal movement. The high thigh block can be adjusted and positioned perfectly based on the needs of the rider and a choice of long or short thigh blocks is available.  The different available thigh blocks can simply be interchanged and repositioned by means of a screw system.
The panels are flocked standard with synthetic wool but can be re-flocked with 100% sheep wool by request at the EDIX facility.  The panels will be flocked soft and supple and will include additional material to allow an EDIX saddle fitter/dealer  to either or adjust the panels to achieve a more favourable density when needed.
 
In comparison to the other EDIX saddles, the Ishya is built on a flexible tree made of PBP (Plastic Blended Polymer), a very flexible, light weight synthetic material.  Because the tree has a very unique form it is recommended that the panels are selected carefully based on the horse’s requirements. Besides the standard Ishya panels EDIX also has a variety of different panels which all can be used under the Ishya, and can all be attached by the saddle fitter or ordered standard directly from the factory.  As such, the EDIX Ishya can always be guaranteed to fit different horses.  When the horse changes shape due to training, growth or age and the originally purchased panels don’t fit anymore, you will have the ability to replace the old panels with new ones to refit the saddle to the horse.
Due to the super flexibility of the tree the EDIX Ishya dressage saddle follows the exact movements and athletic abilities of the horse without compromising the rider’s balance.  The EDIX Ishya moves both in lateral as well as diagonal directions with the horse’s movements.  Because the EDIX Ishya is built on a flex tree, the saddle has a narrower twist and a deeper seat in comparison to the EDIX treeless or EDIX soft tree saddles. A second grade, slightly less flexible tree, (semi flex) may be chosen as a custom option.
The EDIX Ishya comes with long gullet plates which makes the saddle suitable for horses with high withers.  The long gullet plates are interchangeable to allow optimal space for the trapezium muscles. 
The front gussets are cut back to offer better shoulder freedom. The front panels have a nice supporting surface and are thinned toward the bottom to promote freedom of movement.  The stabilizing built-in girth strap is stitched through to assure an extremely stable saddle position.
A wider spinal clearance was chosen for the EDIX Ishya as the flexibility of the horse will allow the horse to move more feely and the wider “swing” in the spine will require more space and guarantees the spinous processes are protected from any pressures created by the panels.  The soft leather, softly flocked panels only rest on the long back muscles.  The saddle’s flexibility and additional space allows freedom of movement so the horse can develop and maintain a strong healthy muscle mass, provided this is combined with correct training and stabling.
The EDIX Ishya has been tested extensively to verify that even pressure is distributed along the back of the horse, beautifully in line, allowing the saddle to move in conjunction with the horse.
The EDIX Ishya dressage saddle is developed as an independent saddle with changeable gullet plates and the option to re-flock the panels.  This allows the EDIX Ishya to continually be adjusted when the horse changes its anatomy due to growth, age or muscle growth as a result of training.  (duplicate, is mentioned earlier, EA)
The EDIX Y-girthing system is made up of 2 front straps and a third Y-strap.  Together they ensure that the girth can be attached in different combinations to create an ideal stable position on the horse, depending on the horse’s build.  Distinctive from other dressage saddles is the adjustable stirrup hook which allows correct leg position and relieves knee strain.  The saddle can be adjusted further to the rider’s preferences by choosing long or short adjustable thigh blocks which are positioned high on the flaps.  The high position of the thigh block allows for an ultimate stable solid seat, while allowing free movement for leg aids.  The flexible Ishya tree positions the rider automatically in the center of the saddle and in a nicely balanced position.  In addition, it is possible to choose between a straight cantle for a closed seat, or a slightly more slanted cantle for a more open seat. The last option is available when a custom Ishya saddle is ordered.

EDIX recommends this saddle is purchased after a consultation with one of the EDIX dealers.  The saddle has 2 different options for panel type and 2 different options for thigh block length.  An EDIX dealer will be able to help you decide which panel type is best for the horse and which thigh blocks will fit your legs the best. The EDIX dealer will be able to adjust and verify the ultimate thigh block position.
To ensure a constant stable saddle position we recommend the EDIX anatomic or crescent partial elastic girth.  The durable elasticity protects the girth straps and the other connections in your saddle and is tailored to adjust to the varying abdominal circumferences of the horse while riding.  Since these girths are made up of 3 parts, they allow for constant even tension by allowing the elastic to contract and expand with the movement of the horse, keeping the saddle stable and in place without limiting the horse’s chest muscle movement.
